Writes that he is currently in Bochum, Germany but expects to move to Czechoslovakia soon and will stay in Europe for the next few months. Said he is disappointed to not return home but would rather be in Europe than in the PTO. Complains that their cigarette ration is down to 13 packs in 24 days and combs and hair oil scarce too. Plans to enclose a money order and asks her to send cigarettes. Mentions the souvenirs he has collected: 35 mm camera, two SS knives and a pistol. Writes that "many of the boys really hate to leave Bochum and...many tears will be spilled upon our departure.".
