Summary:
Gerald Campbell served in the Army as a rifleman in the 27th Infantry Division. He took part in combat operations on Okinawa then later was part of the army of occupation in Honshu, then Yokohama, and finally Nagoya. When his overseas tour of duty was up, Campbell returned to the United States. He was discharged from the Army in 1946 with the rank of sergeant.
