Henry Freedman served in the Army in the Intelligence and Reconnaissance Platoon, 422nd Infantry Regiment, 106th Infantry Division. He was put into the front line in early December 1944 and was there when the Battle of the Bulge began. He was captured on 19 December 1944 and spent the rest of the war in a POW camp. He was liberated on 30 March 1945.
