Description: This series consists of eight letters and one card from James Fisher Jr. to his parents, Reverend James and Mrs. Nannie Fisher, Cameron, West Virginia. The first letter was written in 1934 and the other pieces of correspondence were written in December 1943. In 1934, Fisher was almost done with the school year at Ohio University. By 1943, he was in the United States Army and assigned to the Army Air Base in Lincoln, Nebraska. Fisher discusses how he believes his work in the Army may help him get into a Masters program, the importance of destroying letters, and his multiple trips to Chicago. In his letter written on 8 December, Fisher enclosed a letter from his Aunt Mary.;Personal correspondence from the service of Second Lieutenant James Fisher Jr. who served as a clinical psychologist in the United States Army on the Home Front.
