- PFC Raymond Lewis was born September 28, 1922 in Cisco, Texas. The day after Pearl Harbor he enlisted in the Unites States Army Air Force. He did his basic training at San Antonio, Texas and was assigned to the 1st Radio Squadron which was based out of Dayton, Ohio. During the war his duties included traveling throughout the Pacific and installing radar on Air Force Fighter Planes. He traveled to Liberia, South Africa, India, China, Cairo, and New Guinea. In Dayton he met a WAC and married her after the war. Lewis was discharged from the USAAF in 1945 and returned to Texas.
