PFC Roland Mueller was born in Mora, Minnesota on June 15, 1924. He moved to Tallulah, Louisiana when he was six and was always interested in caring for animals. During his childhood he dreamed of being a Veterinarian. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1942 and assigned to the 785th Tank Battalion as a Medic. As a medic he served on the front lines in the Pacific administering first aid to the wounded. After the war Mueller returned home to Louisiana.
