Summary:

Sgt Gerald Stark was born January 17, 1922 in the township of Mayfield, Illinois. His childhood friend died aboard the USS Arizona when Pearl Harbor was attacked. The next day he enlisted in the United States Army Air Force. After completing his training, he was assigned to the 10th Air Force based in China. He served in the Motor Poole, servicing and issuing military vehicles. When the Burma Road was reopened as the Ledo road in January of 1945, Stark drove supply trucks over 700 miles from Ledo Assdam into Wandingzhen, China. At the conclusion of the war, he returned to Illinois and ran the family service station in Mayfield.
