SSgt Albert Cotugno enlisted in the United States Army Air Force 24 December 1941. He was assigned to the 20th Mapping Squadron. He said "they were independently attached to the 20th Air Force". They went wherever they were needed and were referred to as the Bastard Outfit. Albert was based in Kushkara, India and was responsible for supervising the development, collecting, printing, and making mosaics of the pictures taken to be used in map making.
