Description: Topics in Diary January 1942 to April 1943: Blackouts, Americans arrival in New Zealand, FDR Second Fire Side Chat (he calls it sincere and necessary), FDR and Churchill met in Casablanca but Stalin did not attend; Topics in Diary April 1943-June 1945: Americans take Sicily, Mussolini resigns, went oversees in February 1944; had to stop writing in journal due to the fact that he is overseas but regrets that, outlines the trip from Orlando to Pacific; recounts/records time in the Pacific Theater. (Note this diary has one entry dated April 1952.);Correspondence, diaries, and photographs from the service of Robert Demorest Miller, who served with the 56th Fighter Control Squadron, 86th Fighter Wing, V Fighter Command, 5th Air Force ("The Flying Circus"), and later, the 5279th Airborne Fighter Control Squadron, V Fighter Command, 5th Air Force in the Pacific Theater of Operations. The collection is divided into three series: I. Personal correspondence, 1936-1944; II. Miller's Diaries, 1942-1945; and III. Photographs and negatives, 1944-1945.
