Description: Representative George Whitman Howell, Jr., House of Representatives, Jackson, Mississippi, to Mr. Mack Austin, Jackson, Mississippi. Representative Howell tells Mr. Austin he was sad to hear of Private Rufus B. Austin's probable prisoner of war status, as he had gotten to know Rufus during the 1940 session of the Legislature. He hopes that there will be good news of Private Austin's safety soon, and asks Mr. Austin to inform him on how to get in touch with Private Austin.
