Description: This series consists of seven pieces of military or governmental correspondence. Two of the letters are to Lieutenant Earle Smith commending him for his actions. The other four letters are to Lt. Smith’s wife, Patricia. The letters inform her that Lt. Smith is receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross and later inform her that he was injured in the Pacific.
