Description: This series (1 folder) consist of business, military, and government correspondence regarding the "The Million Dollar Revue" 5th War Bond Drive. Items include: A letter from Charles Skouras of National Theaters Amusement Co., Inc, Los Angeles, California; quotes for poster production, venue availability, financial commitments, gratitude letters and multiple other showings of the program in Coleman, Ballinger, Colorado City, Sweetwater and Snyder, Texas; letters from the Headquarters and Special Service Division of the Army Air Base in Abilene, Texas; letters from the Special Service Branch at the 8th Service Command at Camp Barkeley, Texas; and other materials concerning the 5th War Loan from the United States Treasury War Finance Committee of Texas.;Correspondence, photographs, programs, newspapers, and newspaper clippings regarding the Abilene Army Air Base’s 5th War Bond Drive program "The Million Dollar Revue" fundraiser. Items are from the service of Captain Maxwell Garret, who was an Information and Education Officer in the United States Army Air Force and was in charge of creating variety shows in order to sell large war bonds. The collection is divided into three series: I. Correspondence regarding the "The Million Dollar Revue" 5th War Bond Drive, 1944; II. Published and graphic materials regarding "The Million Dollar Revue" 5th War Bond Drive, 1944; and III. Personal correspondence, 1944.
