Description: Letter from J. Willard Oglesby, Camp Blanding, Florida, to Mrs. J. D. Oglesby, Shreveport, Louisiana. Willard informs his mother that he had a long train journey from Texas to Florida. Had a seven hour layover in New Orleans and the local U.S.O. took the soldiers on a guided tour of the city. Staying with the 264th Infantry Division until his is assigned elsewhere. Writes that it is sandy and they are near the Atlantic coast. Asks her to refrain from writing until he has an address.
