Description: Letter from Chaplain Carroll Hamilton, New Guinea, to the Hamilton family, Albany, Louisiana. Carroll is tired. Enjoyed a cake another fellow received from a girl in Australia. Describes a Japanese plane and sunken Japanese ships. Describes a meal and a plane ride over the jungle and coastline. "We could plainly see the bananas on the stalks. Also many native huts, covered with palm [sic] leaves and grass, built very low to the ground, almost like an igloo." Dreams of peace and home.
