Description: This series consists of letters from Artemas Hendrick, to his wife, Lucille Hendrick, Shreveport, Louisiana. In February 1943, Hendrick had enlisted in the United States Army and was training with the Army Air Forces Technical Training Command at Murray State College, Tishomingo, Oklahoma. He was then sent to Rome Air Depot, Rome, New York, and trained with the 420 Air Base Squadron and 312th Repair Squadron. In October, Hendrick shipped out to the Mediterranean Theater of Operations with the 312th Depot Repair Squadron and ends the year in Algeria.;Personal correspondence, photographs, and souvenirs from the service of Corporal Artemas Hendrick, who served in the 312th Depot Repair Squadron, 41st Air Depot Group, 15th Air Force in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations. The collection is arranged into six series: I. Prewar personal correspondence, 1924-1931; II. Personal correspondence, February 1943-December 1943; III. Personal correspondence, January 1944-December 1944; IV. Personal correspondence, January 1945-October 1945; V. Personal correspondence, Undated; and VI. Souvenirs and Photographs.
