Description: Black three-ring binder. Red and white sticker label on the spine reads "Aug 1st to Sept" Scrapbook of correspondence from Major Eberhard Deutsch, France and Belgium, to his wife, Rhea Deutsch, New Orleans, in addition to newspaper clippings. These letters detail his time in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg during the summer of 1944. Deutsch continued his legal duties, traveling to Paris in late August to interrogate German officers and other prisoners of war; mid-September, he traveled through Compiegne and Belgium into Luxembourg, where he was stationed as a representative of the First U.S. Army; 29 September, Deutsch learned that he would be transferred to Austria at some point in the future.
