Description: Black three-ring binder. Scrapbook of correspondence from Colonel Eberhard Deutsch, Austria, France, and Germany, to his wife, Rhea Deutsch, New Orleans, in addition to some correspondence sent to Deutsch in Austria, newspaper clippings, photographs, and other ephemera. Deutsch's preparations to depart Vienna for the United States; series of letters between Deutsch and his wife regarding her accusations and his denial of an affair she believes he had with the Countess Mittrowsky, an ailing noblewoman he knows in Vienna; Deutsch's account of the farewell parties held before his departure from Vienna; postcard of the Hotel Bristol in Vienna with Deutsch's apartments on the fourth storey circled; Deutsch's last letters to Rhea, one from Vienna dated 13 and one from Munich dated 14 July 1946, reflecting on his years in Europe and his hopes for the "next chapter" in their life together.
