Summary:
Description: Black three-ring binder. Red and white sticker label on the spine is torn, and remaining portion reads "Letters, Apr - May 1945." Scrapbook of correspondence from Lieutenant Colonel Eberhard Deutsch, Italy and England, to his wife, Rhea Deutsch, New Orleans, in addition to other correspondence, newspaper clippings, and programs for theater performances. The first letters are in German, between Eberhard Deutsch and a Herr Erhardt. Deutsch's letters to his wife concern his work in Italy and his predictions that the war will end soon, ushering in a new phase in his work; letter from Lieutenant Colonel Story to Deutsch dated 21 April; in May 1945, Deutsch travelled north from Naples to Rome and then into Florence, and at the end of May he flew to London for a conference on war crimes; copy of Deutsch's Bronze Star award letter, and a photograph of the ceremony.
