Scrapbook containing correspondence and newspaper clippings concerning the survivors of the freighter, USS Manini, which sank 18 December 1941 from a Japanese torpedo. Probably created by survivor Clarence Poor or wife, Clair. Includes correspondence from the Manager of the American Writing Machine Company to Mr. Poor, once a customer of the store 'To think that you were fortunate enough to get into a life boat with other members of the crew and to think that you had to float around for 11 days'', dated 29 January 1942; Telegram sent from Clarence to Clair from Honolulu 'Honolulu safe. Clarence Poor,' dated 30 December 1941; many newspaper clippings, some including images of Poor.
