""The Kid" This boy, only seventeen, was painted as he was getting ready to go up on [illegible] in the rugged northern section of Iwo. His shoes were tennis-shoes and though unorthodox, were comfortable and durable in that terrain. Pfc. Stephen McMurray, Hqs. Co. Hqs. Bn., Div. [illegible] troops, 4th Marine Div. 90 A.P.O.
