- Summary:
- Description: S 2/c George Durant, Base Hospital 13, Navy 817 to his mother, Mrs. Herbert J. Potts, 448 Esplanade, Pelham Manor, New York. George left the hospital three weeks ago to go to another one to have his tonsils removed. Hasn't had any mail for a month. Asks for some copies of the school paper. Is awaiting Christmas presents. His hands are scarred from the burns he received. Mentions that he was the only man on his gun that survived the explosion, so really he is lucky. He still shudders when he thinks about it, and is dreading going back to duty. The hospital is in a beautiful location, but is "deathly quiet.".
