Description: Letter from Mrs. Hawley, Oneida, New York, to Jack Hawley, Beaufort, South Carolina. Enclosure: Photograph of a large white two-story building and caption on reverse written to Jack. Jack's mother writes about his insurance policy. Doesn't want to cash in the bonds just yet. Ruth and her mother came to visit; "She seems so jittery." Local women want him to get married in the church. Wishes she could give Jack a hug. Some friends eat dinner with her nightly; she misses Jack's father and hopes they can be together again soon. Ruth looked beautiful when she visited. Thinks she will need to plan an auction to get rid of things before moving to California.
