Informing that no information concerning the welfare of George Church Durant, Jr. has been received by the ship since his transfer on 16 December 1944 to the USS Halford (DD-480). From that ship, he was transferred to the USS Mercy off Leyte, Philippines and taken to the 54th Army Hospital. Handwriting by "Mary" at the bottom.
