Summary:
The interwoven texts in "Gender, Race, and Identity : Contemporary Feminisms and Technopolitics" are epistemological tools. With the purposeful intention of fabricating and imagining other possible worlds, new theoretical insights sparkle from South Africa, India, Mexico, the United States, and Brazil, composing a critical cartography of the urgencies of our (and others') time: gender, race, technologies, ethics, politics, and aesthetics. The tools forged here make it possible not only to reveal and dismantle colonial structures, but also to build and sustain radical non-white, anti-colonial, and transgender experiences. It is within this network of research, animated by the forces of alterity, that the organizers (and weavers) Beatriz Polivanov, Fernanda Carrera, and Vinicios Ribeiro invite contemporary readers to take up these tools and expand the secrets that dream of worlds.
