Summary:
Most of the documents relate to the reaction in Central America in response to the proposed U.S. protectorate over Nicaragua; to the acquisition of a naval base at Fonseca Bay; and to alleged U.S. interference in the affairs of Central American countries, 1911-1929. Many of the documents include press comments reflecting the opposition in Central America to U.S. influence in Nicaragua and in Latin America and report on relations among Central American countries, Mexico, and the United States, 1911-1929. There are also a few documents relating to the filibustering activity in the United States, mainly in New Orleans, against Central American governments, 1911.
