Polyamide coating systems are thermoplastic and are ordinarily applied in a shop or manufacturing facility. The purpose of this standard is to establish and describe the minimum requirements for the application and use of polyamide systems for steel articles employed in water handling to maximize long-term performance--in particular, long-term corrosion protection.
