Summary:
This book synthesizes research done by Ignatius Tirivangani Mabasa during his Ph.D. studies at Rhodes University, South Africa. Using a style called autoethnography, the author explains the importance of the stories of the Shona people. Also discusses the song Chemutengure, a historical story-song of the Shona people that comments on the disruptive power of imperialism on the African social structure.
