- Summary:
- It was the middle of August 2022, and Mr. Arjuna Arjuna, CEO of the Hotel Royal Emgalantaya, faced a dilemma on how to maintain the exceptional service and premium guest experience of his hotel while innovating green business strategies to maintain its position in the Sri Lankan hospitality industry. He developed a set of strategic principles called "Green Standards" that included green dealing, green care, and green saving. The CEO believed that green standards could revamp the image of the Hotel Royal Emgalantaya in Little England, and the hotel would get more bookings in the summer and peak seasons. The hotel wanted to contribute more business in the tourism and hospitality industry of Sri Lanka. His aim was for the local and international community to feel relaxed and relieved not only with the hotel's green standards but also the green air, mountainous areas, and excellent views of Little England in Sri Lanka. The CEO took a lead and adopted "Green Standards" to solve the dilemma of how to maintain the hotel's exceptional service and premium guest experience while innovating green business strategies.
