This collection of texts produced by teachers and students of the Pedagogical Theories, Educational Work and Society research line, from the Graduate Program in School Education, at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), campus of Araraquara, brings an original contribution to a field in which much has been published in the last two decades in Brazil, that of teacher training. The specificity of this collection lies in the historicizing and critical approach, both in the official guidelines for teacher training and in the pedagogical theories and respective methodological proposals in this field.
