Summary:

The Brazilian banking sector has very specific characteristics in relation to banks installed in other countries. In the second half of the 1990s, with the entry of foreign banks in the country, a process of bank restructuring began, which resulted in important changes in the sector's structure and competition patterns. In this book, the evolution and performance of the largest banks after this restructuring process are analyzed, considering the type of control, whether public, private national or foreign private.
