Summary:
The book is presented as an expanded essay that explores material and symbolic transfers between territories in Italy and Chile, connecting stone quarries in Guidonia with the sculpture collection of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Chile. Conceived from fieldwork and visual and graphic records, it engages with texts by curator Claudio Guerrero Urquiza and is organized around the historical figure of Galvarino, a Mapuche warrior represented in marble in the nineteenth century. It combines multiple modes of writing and a hybrid set of materials, diagrams, photographs, and historical references arranged according to a geological stratigraphic logic.
