Summary:

The night, with its mysteries, characters and rites, is the theme that the exhibition covers through the works of more than a hundred artists who see this period beyond a natural phenomenon. From the turning on of the lights to the dawn, the exhibition addresses everything from social issues, such as the impact of the modernization of cities in the twentieth century, to fantastic and dreamlike narratives, with nocturnal landscapes and mythical figures. Works by artists from different backgrounds make up the exhibition, which reflects on the nocturnal experience as an artistic and social phenomenon, highlighting its implications for the collectivity, work and use of public space. Curated by Renato Menezes and Thierry Freitas.
