Summary:
A report on Hurricane Helene from the Appalachian Mountains in rural western North Carolina. The category four tropical cyclone caused widespread destruction in six states at the end of September. Along with the many missing people who have yet to be accounted for, many residents still have no access to basic needs and roads remain undrivable. Includes interviews with Jane Whitson Peterson, Parzady Whitson, James Warrick, and Jewel Warrick, survivors of Hurricane Helene; and Jeff Howell, emergency management coordinator for Yancey County.
