Summary:
This album contains photographs taken by an unidentified couple during a hiking trip in the Leventina district of Ticino, Switzerland, June 14-19, 1933. The photographs document the couple's travels along the modern Strada Alta Leventina, which is located in the upper part of the Leventina Valley in Ticino, Switzerland. The photographs include landscape views of Rodi-Fiesso, Prato, Cornome, Dalpe, Mairengo, Osco, Ronco, Madrano, Airolo, Hospental and Fontana. There are also photographs of Lago di Tremorgio, Alp Casorei, Lago di Naret and views along the Passo di Campolungo. While most of the photographs document the landscape, there are a few of the couple, photographed separately, picnicing and admiring the views. The photographs are labeled in German and Italian with the location, and at times include descriptive remarks. The pages also include dried, pressed flowers, which may correspond to the various locations where the photographs were taken.
