- Summary:
- "This volume provides a new paradigm for the use of Chrysostom's exegetical homilies in New Testament textual criticism. Grounded in a study of the manuscript tradition of the Homilies on Romans, this work offers both a reconstruction of the Romans text as initially cited in the homilies, and an analysis of the extensive revisions to these citations present in the subsequent manuscript tradition. This study challenges current assumptions about the influence of the Byzantine text on patristic citations, and demonstrates the use of the manuscripts of Chrysostom's homilies as a source of textual reference in the broader transmission history of Romans." -- Publisher, page four of cover.
