The papers and discussions appearing in this volume were presented in Philadelphia, January 22, 1945, as a Symposium on Magnetic Particle Testing sponsored by the Philadelphia District. A. 0. Schaefer, Executive Metallurgical Engineer, The Midvale Co., served as symposium chairman in which capacity he arranged for the papers and discussions. Cooperating were L. E. Ekholm, chairman of the Philadelphia District, and other District members. The symposium was held in two sessions (afternoon and evening) with some 400 present at the afternoon session and well over 500 in the evening.
