Summary:
Narratives are the structures that underpin a story. Stories can emerge in a study at any point during data collection and be interpreted by the researcher to clarify how cultural norms, social interactions and contexts have impacted on individual experiences. These interpretations can also enable the researcher to explore the interplay between stories and the values and traditions of marginalized or underrepresented social groups in order to understand how their lives have been affected, and by what. In this Guide several approaches are demonstrated to analyze and interpret one narrative experience of migration following war, in which people whose lives were at risk because of racial or religious differences were obliged to leave their homelands and move to safer places.
