Summary:
This case study builds on the focus group research on climate science communication I did as a PhD student. I conducted 15 focus groups with Danish climate scientists, climate journalists, and citizens, resulting in an enormous data set. I will detail how displays aided me in the analysis and dissemination of the focus group data and provide concrete examples along the way. My main argument is that data displays can enhance the systematicity and transparency of qualitative inquiry. The purpose of this case study is to draw on my first-hand experience with displays to inspire focus group researchers and qualitative scholars in general to explore alternative methods of structuring and presenting their data.
