This volume, edited by Walter Slaje, presents the research findings of a panel held under the title *Geistesgeschichte Kaschmirs* (Intellectual History of Kashmir) at the 35th German Orientalists' Conference in Erlangen. Its primary focus lies on aspects of the creative output of poets and philosophers from the Kashmir Valley dating from the tenth to the nineteenth century.
