On the 32 rolls of this microfilm publication are reproduced two series of records relating to education programs for Alaska's Native Americans: Letters Sent by the Commissioners of Education, 1877-98; and Letters Sent, 1887-1908. These records are part of the Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Record Group (RG) 75, and are described in Preliminary Inventory of the Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (PI 163), Volume I (National Archives and Records Service, 1965).
