AbstractAlong with increased interest in Magnesium as a material for improving vehicle weight, comes a need for quality prototype castings. Magnesium sand castings offer the versatility die casters require for varying size and weight requirements. For years, magnesium sand castings have met the high integrity requirements demanded by the aerospace industry. That same quality and versatility can be transferred to the automotive prototype through proper foundry practices. The results will yield magnesium castings of unique size, shape, and wall thickness
