Title of original: "Contestacion al Interrogatorio del año de 1811 por el presidente de las misiones de esta Alta California, y los padres de las misiones de San Miguel, San Antonio, Soledad [etc.]" It is dated August 11, 1815, and comprises reports from the Upper California missions to the vice regal government of Mexico on the customs and condition of the Indians connected with the missions. "The author ... was doubtless President Señan or Prefect Sarría."--Bancroft, Hist. of California, volume 2, 1890, page 327. The present translation consists of extracts only.
