Summary:
This paper describes the application of a rule-based expert system shell to the condition monitoring of a solenoid valve/motor speed control system. The expert system is used to determine drift of transducer outputs and the actual faults within the hydraulic system. It compares the transducer values with each other to determine whether or not there is conformity within the system. All transducers are checked for drift and complete failure and the system is monitored for all external leakages, cross port leakage and combinations of such leakages. The output is then produced on a clear graphics display
