- Summary:
- A dual-arm Advanced Teleoperation System (ATOPS) was developed at JPL to demonstrate and evaluate performance capabilities of computer and sensing aided teleoperation. This paper gives a brief overview of the system and briefly describes some of the generic and application oriented performance experiments together with the major results. A major conclusion is that the new advanced technical features of the system should be properly integrated with or interfaced to the naturalfeatures of human operators in order to produce an improved overall system and task performance capability
