The productivity, safety and regulation of all comercial vehicle operations (trucks, transit emergency response) will benefit through the application of Intelligent Vehicle Highway System (IVHS) technologies. The public will benefit from these activities in areas such as environmental Improvements, quality of travel, lower transportation costs and improved highway safety. A significant amount of research and development has already been completed, with operational tests of the technologies about to begin.
