Summary:
This paper will describe flight crew interface issues associated with the use of both automation and robotics on Space Station Freedom. The first section of the paper will focus on the use of automation. One method of portraying large quantities of information is through intelligent interfaces. This concept will be examined with respect to space applications. The robotics portion of the paper will provide a brief description of the proposed robotic devices and their use during Space Station assembly, maintenance, and payload operations
