Summary:
AbstractImprovement in laser application quality and processing rates are related to improved beam quality via higher laser beam brightness. Laser brightness has been increased in a Nd:YAG laser by changing the resonator into a ring design. This ring resonator is designed so light travels predominantly in one direction within a loop yielding a vast improvement in beam quality over conventional linear resonators. This new Nd:YAG laser can increase production throughput, and quality in many material processing applications
