- Summary:
- Acoustic intensity measurements of noise emissions from a new generation light duty turbocharged direct injection (T.CD.I.) IVECO 8140 diesel engine (2.5 liters) under steady state condition are given.Seven noise sources were analyzed at engine speed of 2200 rpm and at full load. For each source, acoustic intensity and power spectrum were measured. The rank analysis of sources at the frequency bandwidth of 80 - 5000 Hz and third octave of 80, 630 and 2000 Ha was made. Moreover the acoustic power of whole engine, coming out from the five surfaces of the enveloping parallelepiped, assuming the surface of the test room floor fully reflecting, was measured
