Summary:
The purpose of this paper is to describe the technical components that support the Assembly Variation Analysis group at the Liberty Development Center of Chrysler Motors. A short chronicle of these elements is presented, as well as a summary of the benefits afforded the user when these tools are properly utilized "up-front" in the advance engineering process.This is followed by an example of a practical application of these tools to a major assembly process under development at Liberty. An analysis of the simulation results, and a brief outline of future developments is offered.Also discussed is the development of a graphics program to enhance the simulation software presently used
