- Summary:
- As demands on the performance of materials increase, emphasis is on finer grain size. Submicron ceramic powders are rapidly becoming regular materials of commerce. Metals have not kept pace. In order to optimize properties of ceramic-metal composites (cermets) both constituents need to be of similar size. Several approaches to the formation of sub-micron metal powders will be discussed, and examples of powders produced by these methods will be described
